![]() ![]() | Ever gone on a dive and run out of air before you have had a chance to do everything you want to do, the many wrecks around the world come to mind. The Tec 40 course is the perfect course to learn how to dive with 2 cylinders on your back and double the amount of air available to you during your dive. There nothing mysterious or complicated about the course, it’s more about getting used to the different weight displacement and learning how to deal with equipment malfunctions (similar to what you did when you first started in your Open Water course). Tec 40 is the entry point into the technical diving world, with a depth limit of 40 metres (same as your Recreational limit) but with up to 10 minutes of non-accelerated decompression (calculating your decompression stops as if you were on air not Nitrox), although you may use any EANx(Nitrox) mix with up to 50% oxygen content. As with all our courses there is some self study to do before we head off to the pool or a shallow water site and begin the first of 4 dives, with the last dive being as close to 40m as we can get you. You will also do some practical applications such as: Learning how to rig your gear up properly, how to calculate how much air you use and then use that to work out how much air you need in your cylinders and how to plan for any realistic problems that may happen during the dive. To enrol on the course, you must be:
